Cardboard Box Tunnel

You'll need

  • Large cardboard boxes (2-3)
  • Tape
  • Scissors (adult use)

Steps

  1. 1Cut bottom and top off boxes
  2. 2Tape boxes together end to end
  3. 3Create a crawl-through tunnel
  4. 4Let them crawl back and forth

Why this works

Crawling through a tunnel builds spatial awareness and core strength, and the in-one-end, out-the-other novelty keeps younger toddlers going back to it again and again.

Try also

  • Add blanket roof sections
  • Put toys at the other end
  • Make a maze with multiple exits

Ensure tunnel is stable. Supervise to prevent climbing on top.
