Action Dice Game
2–6 years · 10–20 min · Indoor · Some energy
You'll need
- Paper cube or dice
- Markers
Steps
- 1Make a paper cube or grab a large blank die — each side needs to be writable
- 2Write a different action on each side: jump, spin, clap, hop on one foot, touch your toes, wiggle
- 3Take turns rolling the dice and reading the action out loud
- 4Everyone does the action together — count to 5 or 10 for each one
- 5Keep rolling for new actions — the randomness makes every round different
Why this works
The random dice roll turns simple movements into a thrilling game. Kids stay engaged because they never know what action comes next, and the physical movements burn energy while building coordination and balance.
Try also
- –Add animal movements like frog jumps, bear walks, or flamingo stands
- –Create two dice — one for the action, one for how many times to do it
- –Make a yoga pose dice for a calmer version
- –Let kids draw the actions instead of writing them
- –Use it as a freeze-dance game — roll the dice, do the move, freeze when the music stops
Clear space for active movements. Move furniture aside if playing indoors.
